Camellia japonica 'Kumasaka'
Common Name: Camellia - Kumasaka Camellia

An evergreen shrub with an upright growth habit. Has glossy green leaves. Produces double rose-pink peony like blooms. Likes shade to partial sun and moist well drained acidic soil.
Plant Care: A balanced liquid fertilizer should also be applied in mid-spring and again in June. Adding a top dressing of shredded bark or well-rotted leaf mold will also help to encourage new growth. Pruning should be light and should take place after flowering. Simply remove any dead or damaged branches - no hard pruning or cutting back is required. Container grown specimens should be protected in winter using bubble wrap or another appropriate material.
