Aubrieta
Common Name: Rock Cress
Aubrieta is a mat-forming, herbaceous plant with simple lightly hairy leaves. The stems are usually hairy and well-branched. The colorful flowers cover the plants in spring. They are generally four-petaled, cross-shaped and may be purple, pink or white. Most prefer cool summers and are short-lived in warmer climates. Sunny locations with fertile, neutral to alkaline, well-draining soil are preferred.
Plant Care: Cut back by one half when flowers fade. This will encourage compact growth. Divide every two years in fall this will prevent the clump form thinning and dying out in the middle.
Propagate by seed or cuttings.
