Gentiana
Common Name: Gentian
Most form a compact clump of simple pointed leaves sometimes in rosettes. The trumpet or bell shaped flowers may be blue white cream yellow or purple. Grow in full sun or partial shade. Soil should be light humus rich and evenly moist with good drainage.
Plant Care:
Can be propagated from root offsets or plant division. Divide in spring. Mulch and add peat moss to the planting hole to keep roots cool and to make soil even more acidic. This plant does not like to be transplanted and is slow to establish itself.
