Centaurea
Common Name: Cornflower, Bachelors Button,
Large, showy flowers with spidery thistle like flower petals, stand out against the dark green leaves. This flower is simple to grow and maintain. It will do well if you plant it in a sunny, well-drained location but does not bloom well if allowed to dry out. If there is too much shade it will become weak.
Plant Care: Divide these plants every 2 to 3 years to keep them vigorous. Will rebloom in fall if cut back after first blooming period. Deadheading flowers will promote new growth and keep the plant tidy. Cut the stems down to ground level in late autumn.
