Achillea
Common Name: Yarrow
Achillea is a low-maintenance plant that grows well with little care. It produces attractive fragrant fern like leaves. Flowers are broad flat heads or loose clusters. Does best in full sun and average to poor soil. Yarrow is also a great plant for attracting butterflies. Yarrow is highly drought-resistant, and has been used for centuries as a companion plant in the vegetable garden - its scent repels aphids, but attracts hoverflies, ladybugs and wasps that feed on common garden grubs.
Plant Care: Divide every 4-5 years in spring or fall. Plants tend to "flop" over when the soil is too rich or when they get too much moisture. Remove spent flowers for longer flowering time. Cut plant down in fall.
